We have changed the way you order our uniforms!
Our fabulous ranges of historically accurate Confederate Officers Uniforms are still hand made in our tailoring shop to your exact specifications BUT many customers said that the old system was a little confusing!
Hopefully this new method will be easier.
We can all see from surviving photography and original uniforms in museums that there were a great many variations worn by officers during the period. As a result we decided that it would be best to let you choose exactly what you want!
Basically you start with the jacket design, whether single or double breasted we have Shell Jackets and Frock Coats to choose from. Each style's price is clearly shown at the end of the item description; this is the price for a standard jacket with none of chargeable optional extras it does include the collar insignia and your choice of buttons.
First choose the material and colour, decide if you want an exterior side pocket and or fully functioning cuffs! If you wish you can add branch of service coloured cuff and or collars, Austrian knots, branch of service coloured piping, your rank, your button choice and then finally put in your sizes!
The checkout will work out the total cost but to make it easier we have listed all the price options next to the chargeable choices.
Delivery for these uniforms is currently a minimum of 12 weeks

All our Confederate Jackets come complete with the relevant rank insignia at no extra cost. Our Officers Single Breasted Shell Jackets are fitted with 9 buttons to the front and 3 to the sleeve cuffs, they can either be made from a high quality Abimilech Hainsworth military grade wool or alternatively for a small extra cost you can opt for our depot jeancloth in a range of period colours.
The jacket is fully lined in a quality polished cotton as per originals and an interior document pocket is fitted as standard.

Shown here are three different ways that our Brigadier General's double breasted frock coat can be worn.
Yes it is the same coat!! Note the button spacing 2 rows of 8 in pairs.
Worn as in the centre picture it allows you to show off your waistcoat.

RB2009J Confederate Officers Double Breasted Frock Coat with Civilian Collar
The main feature of this frockcoat is the 'lay down lapel' as favoured by many Confederate Officers including Robert E Lee.
The frockcoat is fully lined in either black or brown silesia cotton and there are 2 pockets in the rear of the skirts. It is fitted with branch of service facings to collar and cuffs or plain if you specify 'None' when selecting branch of service.
Collar insignia is included in the price and you will be prompted to tell us your rank when ordering.

 | RB040 Type 9 CS Cavalry Officers Trousers
Here is an example of the many different types of trousers we get asked to make for our customers! This pair were ordered from us by the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, for use by one of their American Civil War Historical Interpretors.
We copied them from a known surviving pair of original trousers and now you can order them too!
Made in military weight dark blue wool wool with two yellow wool chevron stripes down each leg, the trousers have slash pockets and a rear buckle adjuster as standard, they are entirely machine stitched with black polished cotton fly and pocket linings. 'V' split waistband. Fitted with reinforced sections to seat and inner leg area.

Here is something useful that may save you having to have a greatcoat, this is our 'collared cape' it is cut long being modelled on the Cavalrymans greatcoat cape and comes with 10 buttons at the front. The cape is fully lined so that you can choose the colour you want. We have offered the standard branch of service colours but if you want something else then please tell us and we will do our best for you.
