RB5020 Schuykill Depot Lined Sack Coat
This is our 'from stock', lined sack coat it is made from a medium weight blue wool serge with a grey or tan coloured wool flannel lining, it is of a three piece body construction, it has a narrower taper to the facing stitching at front of jacket. Lining is three-quarter length, sleeve lining in calico (called muslin in the USA). Buttons are standard medium sized eagle. This Sack Coat is based on the most common surviving Schuykill Arsenal Jackets, for further detailed photographs see the pictures above. Usually available from stock but we can run out in the peak season, please allow 6 weeks for delivery.

RB5616 Greatcoat in Jeancloth
During 1861-1862 The Federal Army authorised the use of colours other than sky blue kersey wool for the manufacture of greatcoats, this was due to the difficulty in obtaining enough material to satisfy all of its needs. There are surviving examples of State issued greatcoats in jeanscloth and we have therefore produced a limited number of these coats to give our customers the opportunity to create a different impression next season. The coat is made to the standard infantry pattern from dark blue depot jeanscloth and is fully lined with grey wool flannel to the body and cotton calico for the sleeves. We supply this coat with 2 sets of buttons for Federal and Confederate use.
Available to fit chest sizes 44" to 52".

Our version of a typical 'Roundabout' of this period, we make ours with 12 buttons at the front and a plain 1,1/2" high collar. The jacket is 6 piece construction and features a 'plain cuff fitted with two buttons.

Mounted Shell Jacket M1858
We consider this to be the best replica Union Shell jacket available today. Finished in best military weight wool with natural cotton lining and muslin sleeve lining with appropriate makers and inspectors stamps. Features twenty small eagle buttons and wool worsted braid in branch of service colour (Artillery Red, Cavalry Yellow; Dragoons Orange and Mounted Rifles Green). Sleeve buttons can be undone to allow the sleeve to be rolled up. Fitted inside pocket. Two bolsters fitted to the rear of jacket to support sword belt. This really is a quality uniform!!

69th New York *Militia Example
This very stylish blue wool jacket was issued to many New York State units. Fitted with shoulder tabs trimmed in branch of service colour and one belt loop to the left hand side as demonstrated in the detailed side view "Pop Up". The collar was also piped but the cuffs were plain. The jacket is fitted with eight SNY Seal buttons to the front and two smaller ones to the shoulder tabs. Lining is black polished cotton with an interior pocket, sleeve lining is natural white muslin (calico). There is a pocket fitted to the exterior left hand front side of the jacket (see close up). Shown here are the main varieties of Federal trousers that we make, Corporal’s with a half inch wool chevron stripe, Sergeant’s with an inch and a half’s wool chevron stripe and Officer’s with a one eight of a inch wool ‘welt’.
Made in the correct weight and colour Sky Blue Kersey*. Entirely machine stitched. Cotton pockets, tin paper backed buttons, slash pockets,
watch pocket fitted. Cuff is plain. ‘V’ split waistband. Two piece rear construction. Staff Officers wear Dark blue with a 1/8th inch welt of gold ‘Russia Lace’.
When ordering please state which rank if any, branch of service i.e. Infantry, Cavalry, etc., your waist, inside leg measurements, plus any optional extras required.

We have based these drawers on the examples contained in the Columbia Rifles Research Compendium.
These drawers are made from a cotton Domet flannel that we have had remanufactured. We believe this to be the closest cloth to the cloth that was used on the original drawers that we have personally inspected in the USA.
The drawers have ties at the back and at the ankle, we have fitted a single button to the fly to preserve modesty!!
