    Probably the most common vest of the period, supplied as standard with four exterior pockets, six wooden, bone or pearl buttons, which we choose dependant on the fabric used. Supplied in your choice of plain or tweed wool with polished cotton lining as standard. All our vests are fitted with period adjustable buckle at the rear.
    Satin lining, velvet collar, pocket tabs and silk tape finishing to edges, all available as extras.

    Please Note: Waist size refers to your largest stomach circumference, NOT your modern trouser size.

    CT2056a Double Breasted Oilskin Duster Coat

    An authentic period pattern produces this quality brown or black oilskin coat (also available in white cotton canvas). It is quite long, finishing well below the knee, it has a split rear seam from the small of the back to the bottom of the coat (to enable the coat to be worn on horseback) which is reinforced with a leather tab.

    A typical 18th Century Long Fronted Vest with waist length back which is laced for adjustment. Made from a brocade or silken cloth and has by default a satin back. This would be worn by the more wealthy gentleman.

    New for 2016 a variation on our old favourite the Napoleonic Officers Vest. This version has stand up/out lapels which show when your coat is done up. Available with flap or standard welt pockets (the normal type of pocket on a vest). Available in a range of brocade colours, and as standard has a satin back and lacing at rear waist.     Making A Purchase
    Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalog, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

    19th Century Tailoring cannot be held responsible for any injury caused to either yourself or any other person or animal through misuse of our products.

    The pricing on the website is in GBP as we are a British company. The Euro pricing is a guide only. You will be charged at the current exchange rate and it is possible that you may be charged an extra fee. We are not liable for this as it is out of our control unfortunately.

    We accept payment via PayPal. Even if you do not have a PayPal account you can use this method to pay by credit and debit card. We also accept UK Cheques and GBP sterling via post. On some occasions we will accept BACS payments, please email to enquire.

    All items are generally made to order, it is rare that we can supply from stock. We ask that you allow a minimum of 14 days for delivery. Delivery is usually between ten to twelve weeks of receipt of order. Please note there can be delays during the peak re-enactment season. .


    Shipping And Handling
    Post and packing in the UK is approximately 10% of the cost of the order up to a maximum charge of 15.00 and a minimum charge of 5.00. Shipping outside of the UK is more expensive, and it is possible that you may be charged import duty if you live outside of the EU. We cannot be held liable for these charges as they are beyond our control. However the price we charge to ship outside of the UK is as low as we can make it.
    We are unable to attend as many Re-enactment events as we used to but are happy to deliver goods to you at these events free of charge if we are attending. Please check to see whether we are going to be there!



    Delivery Schedule
    The majority of our tailoring products are made to your specific order, occasionally we have some items in stock please feel free to email and enquire.

    We ask that you allow a minimum of 12 weeks for delivery. In general, stock items are dispatched as quickly as possible, please note there can be delays during the peak re-enactment season.

    The majority of our clothing is made to order and therefore qualifies as a 'Special Order' under our returns policy. 'Special Orders' do not qualify for a refund but every effort will be made to ensure your satisfaction with your purchase, in the unlikely event that despite our best efforts you are still not satisfied with your 'Special Order' we will at our discretion offer you a credit note to the value of your order..

    If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait..

    Tax Charges
    This site is designed for use by customers based in the UK, Europe and North America. If you live outside of these areas please ask for a specific quote for shipping costs..
