Pietta Products
We regret to announce that we have no further plans to import any more Pietta products. Unfortunately there is simply not enough demand in the UK for us to economically maintain the levels of stocks they require for us to be able to place an order.
We fully understand Pietta's difficulties in having to shut down their production in order to make a small manufacturing run of UK specification guns, which causes them huge problems and in turn creates long delivery times and higher prices.
Therefore until such time as there is a fundamental change in either the demand for them or the rules for importing them and the cost of stocking them we simply cannot afford to keep them anymore.

IT Issues
After all the problems we experienced in 2009 with our IT systems we have completely changed our Internet Service Provisions. As of now the site is hosted on a super-fast hosting platform which will deliver our priduct images to you much more quickly than in the past.
Additionally it is a much more robust platform and we hope not to have the downtime that we expeienced in 2009.

Apologies for the loss of service over the past 2-3 days
Unfortunately we had to change our Broadband Provider as our previous one was closing down. We were promised a ''trouble free'' swop over, which as you can tell hasn't happened.
Apparently some of you can see parts of the site and some nothing at all. We have done everything we can but are stuck in the middle, we just have to wait whilst the geeks sort it out!
We can't receive emails either so in the meantime please call us on 01202 711660 and we will try to help with any queries |

Napoleonic - Regency - Wedding
(as seen on Sky TV)
The Sutlers Stores are proud to have supplied the Groom's Uniform and the Bride's Dress for Ian and Kelly's wedding during the Jane Austen Centre Festival festivities in Bath on 19th Sept 2009. With all the guests dressed in their Regency costumes, and the soldiers mostly from The Cumberland Guard in Southsea (another Sutlers Client for many years) were allowed to fire a salute in front of the Royal Crescent.
World Record For Regency Costume Wearing
The BBC reported today that a world record had been set at the Jane Austen Festival in Bath for the most amount of people dressed in Regency Costume. Over 400 participants stood in a group for 10 minutes to set the new record. To watch the short news report please click here.
We are pleased to see so many of our uniforms, dresses and gentlemen's outfits, not to mention, hats, guns and leather wear all being worn in this record breaking event! The Regency and Napoleonic period has for some years now been our most extensively supplied period, with costume and uniforms being hand made in our tailoring shop and supplied to enthusiasts all over the world. It is especially nice to see the hobby horse enthusiasts called The Dandy Chargers, a local group to us, who we first supplied nearly 10 years ago! |

Changes to Opening Times |
Changes to Our Business
It has been an interesting year for everyone and we are no exception!!
As a result of changes in customers ordering patterns and in particular due to a significant rise in tailoring orders over the last year we need to spend more time in our manufacturing department.
As a result we have no choice but to reduce the times that we are open to visitors, additionally we will also be closed completely on Wednesdays.
You will still be able to send us emails that will be replied to as soon as is humanly possible.
Opening times for visitors: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays only 11 – 4pm
Open for telephone enquiries: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 10am – 5pm
Saturday 11am – 4pm
Open for internet sales: 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
Orders will be processed between 10am – 6pm
Open for emails: 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
Enquiries will be dealt with, within 3 -5 working days – wherever possible.
If you want to visit us and you really cannot fit in with the days and times above; we are happy to discuss an alternative day (but not Sundays) and time (not after 6pm).
Please email or call us to discuss a suitable appointment.
These reduced opening times mean that we can spend more time on making, picking, packing and dispatching your order to you. At the moment we aim to deliver stock items within 14 days of ordering.
We hope by making the changes above we will be able to deliver bespoke made items faster than we currently do.
The new opening hours will commence from the 17th August 2009. |

Pietta News Update
We are still waiting for the rest of the delivery from Pietta. If you already have a gun on order we ask that you are patient for a little while longer. We assure you that they are coming and they are definitely worth the wait!!
For those of you who do not have a gun on order, we have decided to take a break from selling Pietta products. The reason is plain and simple. We do not like letting you, our customers down - and by prolonging this we will continue to let you down.
We will take receipt of the order we are waiting for but once they are all allocated we will not be ordering more for the moment. At the moment no models are available.
We are more than happy to take your details, (name, email address, telephone number and gun choice) by email or post. And once we have decided to import more we will be in contact. This will be done by email though so I am sorry but those of you without an email address we cannot guarantee that you will be contacted. However we will put an update on the website when the time comes.
We will continue to import the Winchesters and the Die Cast peacemakers - although these are taking time to come in too.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused but we are trying to improve our service to you. Thank You |

We have been supporting a 'Junior Hot Racer' for the last two seasons who now at the age of 13 is making quite a name for himself! Josh Murray in his first full year came 5th in the Southern Championship, competing mainly against kids 4-5 years older than himself. He also picked up a number of individual trophies and awards, including being his heat winner in the final of the Southern Championship. Well done Josh!! (Lewis Hamilton - watch out!) Pietta Blankfirer News Update December 24th 2008
We received an unexpected phone call late yesterday from Customs & Excise at Heathrow Airport to say that a large consignment had arrived from Pietta. This does not usually happen!
We have no idea what is in this shipment but we have gone to Heathrow today (Christmas Eve) to collect it and will deal with shipping out the sold orders when we get back to work on January 2nd.
That is the best we can do at this time, even Sutlers have to have a break!
A very Merry Christmas to everyone |

Our very own Peter Veal took part as a soldier in the WWI section and many of the costumes evident in the film were made by the Sutlers Stores.
The Hovis lad runs from a bakers in 1886, through the years, his travels take him down Victorian streets, past a Suffragette protest, and alongside soldiers heading off to the First World War. He gets a glimpse of the swinging 60s, sees the unrest of the mid-80s, and the fireworks to herald the Millennium. All the while, clutching his loaf of Hovis eventually returning to his home and his mum in 2008. |
