This versatile coat saw extensive use amongst civilians and the military. Made as standard from a 12oz, unbleached white cotton canvas duck, the coat is only supplied unlined. It has a three piece body construction with one piece sleeves, fitted with two large patch pockets with flaps and five large wooden buttons. It is quite long, finishing well below the knee, it has a split rear seam from the small of the back to the bottom of the coat (to enable the coat to be worn on horse back) which is reinforced with a leather tab. Options, at no extra cost, are brown corduroy collar and pocket flaps. Our Duster is based on the one worn by Kevin Costner in the film 'Wyatt Earp'.
We recently made a large number of these for the current Pepsi commercial 'Shoot Out at the OK Corral' , they were mainly worn by the Real Madrid football team.

Shown is the 7 button tunic for the 24th Regiment of Foot (South Wales Borderers) c.1879 which was worn for 'Home Service' All the features of the jackets are the same as the originals. All the lace and linings are to original grade specification. Price includes two collar Sphinxes, hook and eyes and sword/belt hook support. These superb replica's are made with wool supplied by Abimilech Hainsworth who have been supplying the British Army since 1800.

CT022 Tombstone Frock Coat
This is our 'Long Coat' based on the Frockcoat worn by Kurt Russell towards the end of the film 'Tombstone'. It is made from a medium weight black wool with a black polished cotton lining and two exterior pockets with flaps. It has three cloth covered buttons on the front and two more on a belt at the back. The coat is cut 'Long' to finish mid-calf, it is generally worn open and we cut it accordingly. If you want to be able to fasten the coat we will cut it more generously, please respond when prompted during the order process.

This new photograph show the coat being worn in the fashion of a 'Gunslinger' however this is a very versatile coat and is suited to many purposes, a lot of our customers buy them for everyday wear !

Another very popular civilian item, made in a quality Hainsworth wool from an original pattern in our collection, features eight piece body and two piece sleeves, fully lined in black cotton with interior pocket. The coat is cut to be worn at 'just above' knee length. Comes with four buttons to the front, two at the rear on the seams and three on the cuffs. CT029A 1850-90's Double Breasted Civilian Frockcoat
This is a very popular item amongst Western and Victorian Civilian Re-enactors, it is made from a quality Black Hainsworth wool. Its special feature is that the front Satin lining extends onto the collar. It has six black satin covered buttons on the front and fully opening cuffs each with three black satin covered buttons. The rest of the lining is a fine silesian polished cotton except sleeves which are white cotton . This is a copy of an original in our collection which is dated to 1872.

CT029J Jeancloth Frock Coat
This is a great traditional Frockcoat for the Western/Victorian era, we make this one from our unique jeanscloth which is a 50/50 blend of cotton and wool resulting in a textured weave that looks great on a frockcoat. It also makes it lighter and therefore more comfortable to wear in the summer. We have a range of colours and you can choose how many buttons are fitted to the front. We usually fit either antler or wood buttons whichever best suit the coat colour you have chosen. This one is fitted with wooden buttons.
The coat is made with a 'skirt' just like the originals were, which means it flows rather nicely at the back when you are walking.
A very smart coat indeed!

CT5767 Full Length Frock Coat in Tweed Wool
This is a lovely example of a full length frock coat dating to the period 1860-1920 it is made from a quality tweed wool with brown velvet collar and cuffs, the buttons are also velvet covered to match. Three buttons are fitted to the front, three to the sleeves and two to the rear. The coat is lined in a brown polished cotton with contrasting sleeve lining. There are 2 flap pockets at the hip and an interior document pocket is also fitted.
The coat has a central vent at the rear which extends to the small of the back enabling the coat to be worn when riding a horse.
Alternative colours are fitted with matching velvet collars, cuffs and buttons so if you choose the black coat we would fit a black velvet collars, cuffs and buttons with a black polished cotton lining.

CT2040W High Collared Sack Jacket.
This design was quite popular as an informal working jacket during the latter half of the 19th century.
Copied from an original, we make these jackets in a heavier weight wool than our other jackets featured on this page, they are fully lined in polished cotton & feature a 'cut away' rounded front with a high lapel fastening. Usually worn with just the top button done up & with a waistcoat. Four piece body construction with two piece sleeves, fitted with three horn buttons to the front only.
The example shown here is in in a tan colour because contrary to modern thinking, the Victorians on both sides of the Atlantic did not only wear black!
