Shown is the 5 button coat for the 24th Regiment of Foot (South Wales Borderers) c.1879 which they were wearing at Rourkes Drift. All the features of the jackets are the same as those worn at this famous engagement. All the lace and linings are to original grade specification. Price includes two collar Sphinxes, hook and eyes and sword/belt hook support. These superb replica's are made with wool supplied by Abimilech Hainsworth who have been supplying the British Army since 1800.

1881 Infantry of the Line 'Other Ranks' Tunic
The 1881 regulations were made in an effort to 'standardise' the uniforms for Infantry regiments, broadly speaking 'Royal Regiments' were to have collar and cuffs of Garter Blue while the others were to use 'Buff' (off -white).
Our replica features a low cut rounded collar, 7 General Service buttons to the front, 2 on the rear seams. White piping to the front edge of the jacket and to the lower part of the rear skirts following the line of the rear seams, jampot cuffs are fitted as per originals.

We make a lot of these for re-enactors and also museum clients, very often you can get hold of an original pair of binoculars but either they don't have a case or the case is unsuitable for the period of history that you portray. Well here is the solution! we copied this from an original case dating to about 1855, it is hand sewn in bridle leather and lined in wool felt, it is supplied with a fully adjustable strap fitted with brass roller buckles. The top of the case features a handle. Please note the binculars shown are not included!
