A History Of The Company
19th Century Tailoring started trading in July 1995 supplying replica British Army Uniforms, the name was changed to 'The Sutlers Stores in 1997. It became a Limited Company (The Sutlers Stores Ltd) in 1999/2000 when the first retail shop was opened. The Sutlers Stores Ltd was put into voluntary administration in June 2006 due to partnership issues that could not be resolved amicably, not one client or supplier was owed any money and nearly £70,000 was handed over to the administrator, all of which is a matter of public record.

The assets of The Sutlers Stores Ltd were bought by the former main directors under a new holding company named Westhill Studios Ltd. The new company moved to premises in Poole.

Westhill Studios Ltd operated The Sutlers Stores from June 2006 until March 2010 when as a consequence of the global recession it was unable to continue trading.

Administrators were appointed (RSA Tenon) and they arranged the sale of the assets to a new owner Mr Ian Leahy; who started a new company called Authentic Sutlers Ltd in April 2010. Mr Leahy decided to close the business in July 2010 and made all the staff redundant.

A number of customers and suppliers were left being owed money by this company.

The copyright to the photography, catalogue designs, website, domain names logos and business name I.E the 'Intellectual Property' of the Sutlers Stores and 19th Century Tailoring has always been and is still owned personally by Mr R.P.Beardall and & Mrs N.H. Beardall.
